This talk will focus on recent advances in the borehole seismic area and thoughts on the way forward.
Discussion will center around 3 areas of application.
1. Stand-alone 3D VSP imaging and inversion.
2. Improved surface seismic imaging using VSP data, with special attention to anisotropy model building.
3. 4-D monitoring of reservoir properties using permanent borehole seismic sensors.
I will discuss current state-of-the art in these areas, needed future developments, and also detail my thinking around achieving solid business impact using these technologies
