Sr. Geologist - Libya

The multi-sisciplinary Libya Subsurface Team, based in Houston, seeks a Geologist to provide classical geologic expertise to maximize the value of Company' business interests in the Waha joint-venture , located onshore Libya. The Libya asset portfolio is comprised of, and will offer the successful candidate the opportunity to work on, a wide-rangeof world-call production assets and major development projects.
Required Experience:
· Assist the team with developing and presenting integrated Field Development Plans on all major assets within the Libya portfolio with particular emphasis on identifying and evaluating production enhancement / expansion opportunities.
· Assist in the preparation of Company-independent categorized reserve / contingent resource estimates and associated production projections using classical volumetric techniques and analogs.
· Participate in and periodically represent Companys' business interests at various partner (ConocoPhillips, Marathon, NOC, Waha Oil) technical meetings in Houston and Libya.
· Assist the Company Exploration and Global New Business Development groups with technical analysis and act as a liaison to ensure that key learning from the Waha properties are transferred to the appropriate Company business interest.
· Develop Company independent view of proposed Waha exploration drilling and seismic acquisition programs. Provide recommendations as to the technical merits of the program and develop an independent view of POSg for each prospect.
· Provide geologic expertise to all phases of the value chain.

This Job Requires the Following Skills:
· Strong background in all aspects of development and production geology.
· Experience working both carbonate and clastic reservoirs.
· Strong understanding of the inter-relationship between the geoscience and engineering disciplines.
· Excellent communication skills with proven success in working within a team environment, liaising with partners and NOC representatives on technical issues.
· Ability to evaluate reservoirs based on geologic and engineering data to determine their suitability for IOR and EOR processes.
· Functional knowledge of reservoir engineering, geophysics, drilling and production operation principles and their relation to practical reservoir management
· Computer literacy: experience with Microsoft Office products required; knowledge of technical software such as Petrel is important
· Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and in a highly-collaborative, multi-cultural team environment
· Willing to travel to Libya (2-3 trips per year) to participate in partner technical meetings.
This Job Requires the Following Computer Skills:
· 5+ years of relevant experience. Prior international experience beneficial, but not required.

MS Degree in geology
